Events:
On February 19th and 23rd there were separate outbreaks of animal Foot & Mouth disease in different parts of England. In late February the MSA halted all rallying and shortly afterwards cancelled the British Rally Championship for 2001. Over the following months, many events were either postponed or cancelled. Rallying restarted from May onwards depending on when the last outbreak in the area of a rally had been cleared up.
